Family Perspective by
Bud Ozar
Jesus sounds like a frustrated parent when He says, “Why are
you testing me?” Children test parents because that is how
they learn limits. Imitate Jesus in today’s Gospel: be firm,
but fair.
Year Of The Eucharist
The gift of peace, which is Jesus Himself, who is our peace,
is the blessing given to the upright of heart. Strengthen us
Lord Jesus through the Eucharist that we may always walk in
your way.
Priesthood
Sunday
Sunday, October 30, has been designated as Priesthood
Sunday, a special day for Catholic communities to express
their appreciation for the priests who serve them. It is a
day to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in
the life of the Church.Lay parish leaders in the Archdiocese
of Detroit have been encouraged to develop their own special
way of marking the day and honoring their parish priests,
both at Mass and other parish events, including social
celebrations and school activities.
Re-Marriage
Preparation
Cana II is a re-marriage preparation weekend designed for
couples entering into a second marriage. The variety of
individual topics presented will make a significant
difference in the lives of the re-marriage couples. The
discussion times are for individual couples. There are no
group discussions. The next date for a Cana II Weekend is
October 22 - 23. The cost of $225 includes rooms, meals, and
all materials. For additional information, call the Family
Life Office at 313-237-5892 or Marie at 586-263-4845.
Marriage
Preparation Weekend
The Covenant Love Marriage Preparation Weekend, sponsored by
the Archdiocesan Office for Family Life, offers engaged
couples and overnight-weekend experience as a special
preparation - not just for their wedding - but for their
lifelong marriage in Christ. The next weekend will take
place October 28 - 29 at St. John Center in Plymouth. For a
brochure with full information, call Janet Gruley at
734-414-1104 or e-mail: gruley.janet@aod.org.
